The job
Drivers will pick up all bills and paperwork for loads from the operations office, unless otherwise instructed. Drivers may be asked to run more than one load per day, as their hours permit. Loads may have more than one stop – some may have 4 or 5. Yard drivers may be asked to deliver loads, as needed. the customer, for the most part, is a make & ship manufacturing plant. For this reason, loads are not always ready when drivers start for that load. Drivers may be asked to wait patiently for their load to be finished, or may be changed onto another load altogether. Once a driver returns to the customer
Good to know
- The customer is a corrugated manufacturer, meaning most loads are 25,000 lbs or less. With the exception of the occassional backhaul, drivers do not have to worry about their trailers being overweight. All loads are run round trip. While there is the periodic need for layovers, we do everything we can to try to make sure the drivers get home daily. While most deliveries happen Monday through Friday, there may be some occasional Saturday work. Yard drivers are required to work overtime, should the need arise.
