How it works
Better Today is an independent recruiting company. We are paid by carriers when a driver we introduce starts work, so there is no cost to you at any step. Here is what the process looks like.
1. You tell us what you want
Search jobs by ZIP code or send the short form. Tell us your CDL status, experience and what matters most: home time, pay type, freight, equipment or benefits.
2. We call you
A recruiter calls you during business hours, usually the same business day. The call takes about 10 to 15 minutes. We ask about your experience, driving record and work history so we only send you to carriers where you meet the requirements. This call may be recorded; we tell you at the start.
3. We match you with a few carriers
We go over three to five options that fit your priorities. We explain home time, freight, pay averages, equipment and requirements for each. We confirm the current terms in writing before you apply.
4. You choose and apply
You pick one carrier and apply. We tell you which documents you need and help if you get stuck. You never apply to several carriers with the same application.
5. Background, drug screen and orientation
The carrier runs a driving-record and background check and a drug screen, then schedules your orientation. We check in before and after orientation so nothing falls through.
6. Your first weeks
We stay in touch during your first weeks. If something was not as described, tell us. Honest feedback about carriers is how we decide who we keep working with.
