Scammers love trucking because drivers change jobs often and many applications happen by phone and text.
Red flags
- They ask you for money: for training, a background check, equipment or a "deposit." Real carriers do not charge you to apply.
- They ask for your SSN, bank details or a photo of your license before any real interview.
- The pay is too good: "$3,500 a week for new drivers, no experience."
- They pressure you: "Decide today or the spot is gone."
- They will not say which company you would work for, even after you are ready to apply.
- Checks in the mail that you must deposit and send part of back.
How to protect yourself
- Look up the carrier's USDOT number on the FMCSA website.
- Call the carrier's main number yourself, not the number in the message.
- Never send money or gift cards.
- Share sensitive data only on the carrier's official application.
How we work
We never ask drivers for money, and we never ask for your SSN. We tell you which carrier before you apply, and you apply directly with them. If anyone using our name asks you for money, it is not us. Call or text us at (307) 218-3831 to report it.
Want a recruiter who answers these questions before you ask?
Tell us 4 things and we match you with CDL-A jobs you can actually get. Free for drivers.
